Baxter Campus

Baxter Institute is located on a
beautiful campus in Tegucigalpa.

Baxter Institute is located on a beautiful, 13-acre campus in the sprawling city of Tegucigalpa, Honduras. The campus property previously served as a weekend country home and coffee farm. The towering pines, sego palms, almond, mahogany, and fruit trees (mango, avocado, and banana), coffee plants, along with lush foliage make this a tropical paradise. Today, it is a safe haven nestled in the midst of the bustle and clamor of the ever-growing city.

Two buildings remain in use from the original coffee farm, but the center of daily campus life is the four-story Harris Goodwin Administration Building. This building houses offices, classrooms, a computer lab, and library. On the top floor is the chapel where daily devotionals are held. From the chapel, one can see not only spectacular views of God’s creation, but also the metropolitan areas which are home to untold thousands whom God loves and wishes to save through Christ.

The adjacent Damas de Baxter Cafeteria (Women of Baxter Cafeteria), a two-story dining hall and student center, provides a hub for campus life outside the classroom. Food service is provided for the single students who eat all of their meals in the dining hall; married students eat with their families in their apartments, except on special occasions.

Situated behind these two buildings is the 1,200-seat, covered Armando Pacheco Amphitheatre. This is a great place for large youth gatherings and area-wide church worship services.

multi-purpose sports court provides a variety of recreational activities on campus, including soccer, basketball, baseball, and volleyball. This is located between the men’s dormitory and the Annabelle Lawrence Nursery.

As a resident ministry training program, Baxter provides housing for students on campus. The Walter Frazier Men’s Dormitory can house up to 70 single men in double rooms. The men’s dorm also has an open courtyard and common area which is perfect for singing and studying.

The Burton and Sissie Coffman Apartments are home to 21 married couples, some with children. Each of these apartments is furnished with a living room, two bedrooms, a bathroom, and a kitchen for family dining. This close proximity to the other families creates a close-knit community.
